Luanphor

During meditation Phra Luangphor had a vision of a huge chunk of jade in British Columbia, which he subsequently was able to confirm. He travelled to Canada and was so taken by the kindness of the Canadians who first greeted him in Vancouver, that he decided to open his first English meditation schools in Canada.  Previously he had taught meditation in Thailand to many, including the King of Thailand.

He had the huge piece  of jade shipped to Thailand, and hired some master sculptors from Italy to carve the world’s largest jade Buddha and  a smaller Quan Yin. An enterprising businessman, Luangphor then had the smaller pieces of jade that were left over carved into many small Buddhas, that he sold for $40 each. He raised a huge sum of money from this venture, that he in turn donated to schooling in Thailand, from primary schools to universities.
